Privacy Policy
The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum (“The Noguchi Museum” or “the Museum”) is committed to protecting the privacy of its visitors, both online and at the Museum’s physical location (9-01 33rd Road, Long Island City, New York 11106, United States of America). This Privacy Policy governs the Museum’s collection and use of information both on the Museum’s website (noguchi.org and shop.noguchi.org) and in person at the Museum’s physical location, as well as at locations where Museum staff are present, such as at community events.
By using the Museum’s website, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use this website. A link to this policy is provided in the footer information on every page of the Museum’s website for ease of reference.
The Information You Provide
The Noguchi Museum collects personal information from you when you make a purchase, register for programs, make a donation, sign up for programs or newsletters, or otherwise communicate with us. This includes in-person or phone purchases and signups, both at the Museum’s physical location and at off-site events where Museum staff are present, as well as emails sent to the Museum. Emails sent to the Museum will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary.
The Museum uses the information you provide so that it can respond to your inquiry or to fulfill your online order. The Museum may also use it to contact you to provide information about the Museum’s activities, programs, events, products, membership, and fundraising opportunities that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of having your information used by the Museum for these purposes at any time (see “Opting-Out”).
The Museum may combine information you provide with information that it has received, gathered, acquired, or stored from other sources, including information collected offline by the Museum and information received from third parties, into a single customer record.
Sharing of Information
The Noguchi Museum engages third-party vendors to process purchases and transactions, facilitate email communications, provide website analytics, and maintain program participant and donor databases. The information you provide may be shared with these vendors so that they can provide services for or through the Museum’s website for the purposes listed in the section above. The Museum requires vendors to maintain the security of this information, and restricts vendors from using the information in any way not expressly authorized by the Museum.
The Museum does not share or sell the information you provide with other non-profit organizations, companies, or third-party marketing companies.
The Museum may release or share information when doing so is necessary to reasonably comply with the law; to enforce the terms of any of our agreements; or to protect the rights, property and safety of the Museum, users of this site, or others.

If you prefer to be removed from our mailing list, please contact us at communications@noguchi.org. If you prefer to be removed from our email list(s), please follow the instructions for unsubscribing that are included in the footer of the email message sent to you, or email communications@noguchi.org.
Website
The Museum uses tracking technologies to collect information about your visits to the website. This includes usage of “cookies,” small data files automatically sent to your browser and stored on your hard drive. Cookies enable the Museum’s website to remember what items are in your shopping cart, and to provide a better experience when you browse the website.
The Museum also uses “pixel tags,” small images embedded in webpages and emails that help track whether certain parts of a website have been viewed, or whether an email was opened. This enables the Museum to improve its website and communications.
Within the website, or in the Museum’s email communications, you may find links to other organizations or individuals, such as other museums or artists. In most cases, these links relate to exhibitions or events created in collaboration or with assistance from the Museum. The Museum does not control the content or links that appear on these sites, nor does it control the privacy policies by which they abide. The Museum encourages visitors to exercise caution and to review the policies that govern these external sites prior to sharing any personal information. The Museum is not responsible for the content or security of any websites outside of noguchi.org and shop.noguchi.org.
Security
The Museum makes every reasonable effort to ensure the security of the information you provide, including the usage of encryption and tokenization. However, the confidentiality of any information transmitted via this website cannot be guaranteed, and any information you transmit to us is sent at your own risk. If you prefer, donations and purchases can be made over the phone by calling 718.204.7088.
Please be advised that when placing an online order through the Museum’s Shop, your personal data will be protected in accordance with United States law, which may not require the same level of protection as is legally required in other countries, such as those in the European Union.

The Museum does not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13) years of age. Children should obtain permission from a parent or guardian prior to submitting any information to this or any website.

These outside vendors can be located in the United States or in another country. You consent to the transfer of your personal information to the locations utilized by any third party vendors with which the Museum contracts.
