In celebration of Lunar New Year, visitors of all ages are invited to explore Isamu Noguchi’s Lunar light sculptures on view in the exhibition Against Time: The Noguchi Museum 40th Anniversary Reinstallation through art-making in the galleries.
In the 1940s, Noguchi experimented with making illuminated sculptures. He later wrote, “I thought of a luminous object as a source of delight in itself—like a fire it attracts and protects us from the beasts of the night.” Pick up art materials from a Noguchi Museum educator and make your own creations in the galleries inspired by these otherworldly works.
Admission to the Museum is free all day for Free First Friday. Advance registration is not required.
