Socrates x Noguchi Field Guide: Cleansing: Water as Material

Saturday, June 22, 2024
11 am–1 pm
At Socrates Sculpture Park (32-01 Vernon Blvd)
Free with advance registration

Connect with nature through a series of experimental art-making workshops led by Noguchi Educators at nearby Socrates Sculpture Park. These workshops are free and open to all ages. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is highly recommended, with a limited number of walk-up spots available. All participants will be given a free pass to visit The Noguchi Museum after the program.

On Saturday, June 22, join Noguchi Educator Luned Palmer for a workshop playing with the cleansing and ephemeral power of rainwater. Participants will experiment with methods of water collection, inspired by Isamu Noguchi’s love affair with Japanese tsukubai (water basins) and water as material.

Registration for this program will open on May 22 at 12 pm ET.

Luned Palmer joined The Noguchi Museum in 2010 as an Educator. She currently facilitates all types of programs for all people at The Noguchi Museum, The Morgan Library, and The Jewish Museum. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two young daughters, busy playing and looking for magic everywhere. Luned holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Swarthmore College and a Master of Science in Museum Education from Bank Street College.
