Lunar Infant

1944
Electric components, Magnesite, Metal, Wood
My use of magnesite comes from the experience in 1938 of making a fountain of that material for the Ford Motor Company at the 1939–40 New York World’s Fair. Using this material, I invented “Lunars” as an attempt at a new art form, which included self-illuminating light. Lunar Infant was probably my most successful. It is from this that my later research in light takes off.
