Hands-On at Noguchi: Shaping Soft Stone

Sunday, November 12, 2017 - 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Isamu Noguchi and his late-in-life friend, Gonzalo Fonseca, both kept studios near the marble quarries of Monte Altissimo in Italy, and shared a love for carving stone. Participants in this program will spend time carefully looking at and discussing stone works featured in the permanent collection and special exhibition The Sculpture of Gonzalo Fonseca. Then, participants will learn techniques for working with soft stone to create their own sculptures.

Previous experience is not necessary. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Ages 18 and older. $10 members, $20 non-members. Program fee includes full admission to the Museum.
