Once placed together on this base, these three sculptures—Small Torso, Core Piece #1, and Core Piece #2—quickly acquired a mutual identity which has held them together.

From my days of passage to Greece, there was a marble, Small Torso, which was not finished in time to appear with the rest in the exhibition at the Stable Gallery in 1959. So it remained with me.
